Ain’t No River Wide Enough.

At the start of 2020 things could not have been better with NYE kicking it off, we found ourselves becoming inundated with bookings for weddings, parties and other events for the year, as well as our newest show ‘Les Femmes’ officially launching after the dedication and hard work put in by the entire creative team over the previous number of months.

With the year ahead looking as promising and eventful as ever it was disappointing to say the least when everything came to a sudden halt and we all were told to self isolate and remain at home.

However despite the change and despite the distance between each other, many have stayed connected online. It makes us so happy that our fabulous family at Evoke have been able to still find ways to do what they love and connect with each other despite being unable to be out at weddings, parties and public gigs doing what they do best.

Check out a little bit of what some of our singers have been getting up to during lockdown.

Whether it’s in Melbourne, Sydney, or all the way over on the other side of the world in Los Angeles, Emma, Kyla and Kirrah recorded their own rendition of Naturally by Allen Stone. Simply amazing!

And if three part harmonies weren’t enough, the girls also teamed up with Jacinta and a couple more ladies for a 6 piece vocal ensemble covering Charlie Puth’s, ‘We don’t talk anymore’

Let’s Groove Tonight’s Jacinta has been recording her own covers including Emeli Sande and a Dua Lipa X Christina Aguilera mashup.

Rob Jefferey (Let’s Groove Tonight & The Vallies) has formed a full ‘virtual’ band embracing the likes of George Michael and Elton John for some killer covers, teaming up with a few musicians including fellow member of The Vallies, Matt Vail.

Lockdown may have been keeping us inside but our spirits are remaining high and we are staying optimistic of a resilient return to the stage. Until then we encourage not just our guys to keep creating but for all of you to spend this time exploring your own creativity.

Take Care xx
